Todd Amen, President & CEO

Todd Amen is the Founder, President and CEO of ATBS. No stranger to the entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Amen started ATBS out of the proverbial garage doing alone what it takes many ATBS employees to do today. Mr. Amen remains an active participant in the growth and success of ATBS. His leadership, industry expertise and insight is a driving force behind ATBS’ success in bringing about innovative new products and services to the trucking industry designed to increase the success and profitability of all ATBS clients.

Prior to ATBS, Mr. Amen was self-employed as a futures and commodities trader and then became Co-President of Trans-Western Express, LTD. (TWX), a family-owned truckline operating in the contiguous 48 states and Canada. At TWX, he was involved in all areas of managing and marketing the company and was specifically responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative management of TWX. The company was successfully sold in 1998, the year ATBS was formed.

In addition to his work with ATBS, Mr. Amen is a recognized leader in transportation and finance, speaking nationally at various meetings on the state of the industry. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Truckload Carriers Association.

Mr. Amen is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing. In his free time, he enjoys fly-fishing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, skiing and especially enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.




Jeff Amen, Vice President

Jeff Amen, Vice President

Mr. Amen has spent his entire career in the trucking industry with experience in virtually every function of a major truckline, starting out at a young age as a mechanic in his family-owned company. In the early 90’s, Mr. Amen became co-president of Trans-Western Express, LTD. (TWX) with involvement in the management of the entire company. He was specifically responsible for Operations, Safety, Sales and Marketing. The truckline was successfully sold in 1998 at which point Mr. Amen remained in his leadership position, running the business for the purchasing company.

In 2001, Mr. Amen joined ATBS initially focusing on sales, rapidly growing the client base and contributing to the management of the entire organization. As a co-owner, today Mr. Amen is involved in all aspects of the management of ATBS helping to set the strategic direction of the company. He continues to be a leader in the sales and marketing of the company’s products and services.

Mr. Amen is a past chairman of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, a past chairman of the Refrigerated Division of the Truckload Carriers Association and a past board member of the Truckload Carriers Association and the American Trucking Association.

Mr. Amen graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance. He enjoys golf, fly-fishing and skiing and spends as much time as possible with his wife and two boys.




Matt Amen, Vice President

Matt Amen, Vice President

Mr. Amen joined ATBS in 2002 bringing with him a strong background in trucking, business development, management and information technology. He started part-time in his family-owned trucking company at a young age and in 1991 became Co-President of Trans-Western Express, LTD. (TWX). Mr. Amen oversaw the management of the Maintenance, Recruiting and Orientation Departments and negotiated all fuel and equipment purchasing. While there, he developed ongoing 5-year strategic planning programs and quality control programs. In 2000, Mr. Amen started his own business, ICCE Technologies, where he acquired and commercialized military command and control technology that was developed at NORAD.

Today, in addition to his leadership role at ATBS, Mr. Amen directs the Maintenance Consulting group and all Asset Services products. He is also responsible for the development of THIS plan, ATBS’ insurance offerings. He continues to be involved in the sales and marketing of all ATBS products and services and oversees the information technology direction of the company.

Mr. Amen has served on several committees for the Truckload Carriers Association. He also served on the board of directors for the American Truckload Cooperative where he helped craft the business plan for Trip Pak.

Mr. Amen graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. When he’s not working, he enjoys skiing, golf, fly-fishing and spending time with his wife and three children.




Dan Prime, General Manager - ATBS

Dan Prime, General Manager – ATBS

Mr. Prime became General Manager of ATBS in September 2005. In the General Manager role, he directs and coordinates the operations and management of all business services departments including tax, client accounting, maintenance, education, consulting and corporate finance. He implements the strategic direction of the company, facilitating the growth and development of ATBS products and services overseeing budgets and cost controls to ensure the overall financial health of ATBS.

Mr. Prime joined the ATBS team with almost 25 years experience in finance, accounting and tax including senior positions at two publicly traded transportation companies. Mr. Prime has been a senior manager of the audit, tax and assurance departments of an international professional services firm. He was Controller for USF Holland, Inc. and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for USF Glen Moore, Inc.

Mr. Prime holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and an MBA from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Truckload Carriers Association. In his free time, he enjoys, skiing, hiking, biking and watching sports, especially NASCAR.

Sherri Aaberg, General Manager- Leasco

Sheri Aaberg, General Manager – Leasco

In the fall of 2007, Ms. Aaberg became General Manager of ATBS Leasco, bringing with her a strong background in finance, accounting and management. ATBS Leasco is a carrier-based owner-operator equipment leasing program custom tailored to meet both carrier and owner-operator needs. As General Manager, Ms. Aaberg oversees all aspects of the leasing process including asset acquisition, sales, marketing and financial performance, facilitating and promoting the growth and development of this important business division.

Ms. Aaberg’s management and accounting experience spans over 20 years. Prior to 1989, she was Executive Administrator for a large real estate firm then in 1989, she founded AA Enterprises, Inc., an accounting and administrative systems consulting firm. AA Enterprise’s clientele ranged from multinational corporations to small businesses. In 1999, the business was sold and Ms. Aaberg went to work for Highline Capital Transportation. As the Vice President and General Manager of Highline, she established and successfully managed their commercial truck portfolio for eight years, from the portfolios inception in 2000.

Ms. Aaberg attended the Universities of Michigan State and Northern Colorado and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with honors from Regis University in Denver. Ms. Aaberg has been an active contributing member of both the Blue Book Truck Advisory Council and Used Truck Association (UTA). Outside of work, Ms. Aaberg competes regionally in the National Reined Cow Horse Association. She also enjoys golfing and skiing.

Tom Hagglund, Controller

Tom Hagglund, Controller

Mr. Hagglund joined ATBS in July 2007 with more than 20 years of diverse financial and accounting experience and expertise. As Controller for ATBS, he manages the corporate accounting staff overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, budgets and cost controls and inter-company accounting processes. He also has responsibility for establishing financial policies, procedures and reporting systems.

Mr. Hagglund is an experienced financial professional who has worked in multiple capacities for both established and early stage companies. Most recently, he was a professional associate with Jefferson Wells International’s Denver Branch. He has been responsible for strategic financial planning, accounting practices, and financial risk assessment and has broad experience across all facets of operations. Mr. Hagglund’s experience includes setting up financial systems, managing turnarounds, liaising corporate boards and investors, raising equity capital and developing processes and controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Mr. Hagglund has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado. When he is not working, he can be found snow skiing, water skiing, watching his daughter’s soccer games or spending time with his family.

Richard DeForest, Vice President - Fleet Sales Richard DeForest, Vice President – Fleet Sales

Mr. DeForest started in the trucking industry in 1969 and has experienced virtually every aspect of the industry. He has held titles that include Night Dispatcher, Dispatcher, Salesman, Recruiter, Operations Manager & Director, Marketing Director, General Manager, Vice President and President for both small and large carriers. His experience includes work in dry van, refrigerated and flatbed operations. Mr. DeForest was also Regional Manager for a successful brokerage office and General Manager of Operations for a Logistics Company. He has consulted with several carriers in the industry ranging in size from $6M to $42M, successfully correcting Operational, Marketing, Safety, Personnel and Financial problems that caused unprofitable operations.

Mr. DeForest began his career in sales at ATBS in November 2001. He has been instrumental in growing the company’s business through developing and maintaining relationships with ATBS Partner Carriers. He utilizes his extensive knowledge of the industry to educate drivers, carrier personnel and ATBS employees in many ways. Mr. DeForest conducts business seminars for carriers, participates and presents at industry trade shows, writes and publishes quarterly newsletters and conducts internal ATBS training sessions. He was also a key source of information for the ATBS CABS program. When he is not working, he likes to fly-fish, camp and work on home projects.

Matt Harris, Vice President - Fleet Sales Matt Harris, Vice President – Fleet Sales

Before joining ATBS in June 2002, Mr. Harris worked in labor relations for two years at Mrs. Baird’s Bakeries in Ft. Worth, Texas, after graduating from Texas Christian University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication and a minor in General Business. He then attended graduate school at Auburn University earning his MBA with an emphasis in Marketing. While there, he was a consultant with the Small Business Development Center for his graduate assistantship, working with local small business owners to help them develop strategies and fine tune business plans to secure lending.

Mr. Harris started at ATBS as a Business Consultant working with many of our fleet customers. He soon moved into a management role overseeing all of Fleet Consulting and Inside Sales. Currently Mr. Harris is a sales executive dividing his time between new prospects and existing clients. He grows the business through the acquisition of new clients and through the implementation of new products or services within an account. In addition to his sales activities, Mr. Harris oversees all activity within his accounts including consulting, education and billing. He also continues to work with individual drivers helping them improve their businesses. Mr. Harris regularly attends trade exhibitions and events conducting business classes and presentations for the industry. Outside of work, Mr. Harris enjoys snow skiing, running, hiking, cooking/grilling, live music, playing cornhole, traveling and watching college sports.

Angela Bruskotter, Director of Marketing Angela Bruskotter, Director of Marketing

Ms. Bruskotter came to ATBS in June 2005 with an extensive background in sales and marketing. After graduating from Golden Gate University in San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, she worked for IBM in New York City first in Sales, marketing products and services to Fortune 500 accounts. She then worked in Marketing Communications, producing and placing national advertising campaigns for IBM products and services. After moving to Denver, she oversaw the product development, marketing and promotion for a publicly traded telecommunications company before setting out to manage all aspects of her own creative business.

Ms. Bruskotter’s work at ATBS covers a wide range of marketing and sales support activities. She coordinated the experience and expertise of many ATBS employees to create and produce the ATBS CABS Education Program. She oversees the development of marketing materials and sales support materials, writes articles for industry publications and presents product and company information for carriers and industry events. She works closely with the sales team to support their efforts with new and existing clients. In her off hours, Ms. Bruskotter is an artist and writer when she’s not working on home projects or spending time with her husband and beagle.

Andy Erwin, Manager - Specialized ConsultingAndy Erwin, Manager – Consulting

Mr. Erwin started at ATBS in March 2001. He began his career at ATBS as a Business Consultant working with clients from many of our partner carriers. He soon was promoted to Group Lead working with the Fastruck Program where he redesigned the program and the consulting roles to better meet the needs of ATBS customers. Mr. Erwin is now Manager of the Specialized Consulting Group overseeing Triage clients and other customers that require more in-depth and intensive account coverage.

Prior to ATBS, Mr. Erwin worked in the Financial Services industry providing investment advice and solutions to his customers. Mr. Erwin has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Colorado State University. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, golfing, hiking and hunting. He is an avid reader and enjoys good movies.

Bob Hellrung, Manager - Quality Assurance & Educational ServicesBob Hellrung, Manager – Quality Assurance & Educational Services

Mr. Hellrung came to ATBS in 2001 with over 25 years of transportation experience. He has worked on the shipper’s side in the Corporate Transportation Department of a Fortune 100 packaging firm and has managed Operations, Customer Service, Traffic and Administration Departments for various Truckload and LTL Trucking companies. In addition to his work experience, Mr. Hellrung has served multiple terms on Tariff Bureau Board of Directors and served for many years as a member of the Colorado Frame Carriers.

Mr. Hellrung’s initial position at ATBS was Manager of the Business Consulting Departments giving him an in-depth knowledge of ATBS customers and the unique challenges they face in their businesses. He uses this knowledge in his role as Quality Assurance Manager where he oversees ATBS processes to ensure they meet customer needs. In addition to supervising the CABS program, Mr. Hellrung develops new-hire and ongoing training and education programs for ATBS employees. He has Degrees in Transportation Management and Business Administration from the University of Toledo and Metro State College of Denver. When he is not at work, Mr. Hellrung likes hiking, golf, music, reading, Frisbee, and spending time with his wife and kids.

Holly Stevenson, Manager - Client AccountingHolly Stevenson, Manager – Client Accounting

Ms. Stevenson joined the ATBS Management Team in August 2007. Prior to joining ATBS, she had over 20 years experience as Director of Finance, Regional and Corporate Controller in the hospitality and healthcare industries. In her previous positions, Ms. Stevenson directed budget and cost controls, accounting practices and reports. She analyzed financial data, recommending changes to improve systems and financial performance.

Ms. Stevenson brings her dedication to quality and process control to her position as Client Accounting Manager. She ensures that client information is accurate and timely and presented in a way to be of the most use in managing the clients’ businesses. She oversees a large staff of sorters, data entry, reconcilers and quality control personnel working closely with the tax department and consulting departments to provide information for monthly statements, quarterly tax estimates and end of year tax returns. She is a graduate of Western State College with a degree in Business. Ms. Stevenson is also a Six Sigma Greenbelt.

Joe Mash, Manager - Information Systems

Joe Mash, Manager – Information Systems

Joe had over 10 years of experience in the information technology industry before coming to ATBS in July 2001. He has worked with multiple database applications and has expertise in numerous programming languages. In addition to his technical skills, he has a strong background in customer service and project management for Fortune 500 companies, including project analysis to deliver cost and timeline estimates. Joe graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. He is also a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer and a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Joe uses this background and education in his position at ATBS where he oversees all aspects of ATBS technology, network, telephony and communication installations. He develops and directs the IT budget and manages all technology vendor contracts and relationships, including voice and data providers. In addition, Joe supervises the application development of approved projects with the IT staff and contractors. He and his staff work closely with ATBS partner carriers to facilitate the direct download of client business information, alleviating much of the customer’s burden for collecting receipts and settlement information. In his spare time, Joe likes to golf, fish, ski, mountain bike and hang out with his kids.

Mark Miller, Manager - Tax

Mark Miller, Manager – Tax

Mark began his career at ATBS in October 2006. He has been a practicing CPA for the past 24 years and has experience working in a variety of industries including retail, professional services, manufacturing, the oil and gas industry and of course, trucking. He has spent his entire career preparing taxes for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations. In addition to his tax preparation experience, Mark has considerable experience working with the IRS resolving client’s outstanding tax problems and is well versed in the particular nuances that affect the trucking industry. He has been a Manager in a public accounting firm and CFO and President of privately held companies. He is a graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo.

As the ATBS Tax Manager, Mark oversees the preparation and review of thousands of quarterly tax estimates and year-end tax returns for ATBS clients. He maintains a high level of knowledge in his department not only as it pertains to tax laws, but specifically for the trucking industry. It is this knowledge and the ATBS benchmarking data that allows Mark to provide the highest level of accuracy and customer service to ATBS clients, setting him and his department apart from other tax preparers. When he’s not working on tax returns, Mark likes watching sports, playing golf, coaching baseball and spending time with his wife and two children.
